Dear Parents:
This afternoon, we received information that one of our students has been tested for COVID-19 and is currently awaiting the results of that test. This student has participated several times in our Vacation Bible School decorating group over the last two weeks. The student began feeling ill this morning and had a fever and sore throat. The student was taken to the doctor, who administered the COVID-19 test and advised the student to remain in quarantine until the results of the test come in.
You are receiving this message because you have a child who has participated in the Vacation Bible School decorating group and may have come into contact with this student. While we do not have enough information to know for sure if your child is at risk, we wanted to be sure that you had the same information we have and that you are able to take whatever precautions you think are necessary given the circumstances.
Due to his contact with this student, Jacob Mason has decided to keep himself isolated until he can be sure he is not infected with the virus. So, he will not be in the office for at least the remainder of this week, and we will not host any youth activities until further notice. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of our other pastors:
- Tim Rowell, Senior Pastor: (361) 772-2155 or pastortim@flatoniabaptist.org
- Martin Cherry, Associate Pastor: (512) 574-0005 or martin@flatoniabaptist.org
We will send updated information as soon as we know the results of the COVID-19 test or if we receive any other relevant information. In the meantime, please know that our church will be continuing to pray for our community and our nation as we deal with this virus. If we can assist you in any way, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Flatonia Baptist Church Staff
