Welcome Home to Flatonia Baptist Church!

We’re looking forward to having you join us at Flatonia Baptist Church! We know you’ll find a warm, loving church family filled with people who will love you, encourage you, and walk alongside you as you follow God’s will for your life. You’ll also find plenty of places to serve, giving you lots of opportunities to put your gifts and talents to work for the kingdom of God! Here are some answers to some common questions people have about our church:

When are the services, and how long do they last?
We have two Sunday Morning worship services, at 8:15 AM and 10:45 AM. These services last approximately one hour, and we have Sunday School classes for all ages in between the services at 9:30 AM. The two services have the same sermon and the same music, so we encourage you to choose whichever service best fits your schedule.

Can my kids sit with me in the service?
Absolutely. You’ll see folks of all ages, from babies to senior citizens, worshipping together. However, if you would prefer, we do have a nursery available for infants and very young children, as well as a Children’s Church ministry for kids (2nd grade and under) during our 10:45 AM service (they sit with their parents at the beginning of the service, then leave about halfway through for some activities designed especially for them).

Do I have to dress up? What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever you want. Some of our folks choose to wear their “Sunday best” to church, but you’ll find plenty of people in jeans, too.

How do I connect with others?
At Flatonia Baptist, we have lots of opportunities to get to know other believers. First, we offer Sunday School classes for all ages (9:30 am on Sunday mornings) which offer an intimate, small-group setting that is perfect for meeting people and sharing important conversations about life and faith. We also have our Wednesday Night Supper (5:45 pm in the Sellers Center) which is a great, informal atmosphere that is conducive to forging new friendships and also includes a time of prayer and Bible study.

How do I become a member?
There are three ways that you can join Flatonia Baptist Church:

  1. By baptism: If you’re coming to faith in Jesus Christ for the first time and following His commandment to be baptized.
  2. By letter: If you’re joining our church after having been a member of another Southern Baptist Church and would like to transfer your membership.
  3. By statement: If you’re already a Christian but are coming from another denomination or if your old church doesn’t exist any more.

For more information on how to join the church, please contact Pastor Tim.
